purple-leaved ajuga
Excellent ground cover, maroon leaves, stunning ground-hugging spikes of dark blue flowers. Very rapid spreader – some would say invasive. Most people consider this a rowdy ground cover that happens to have lovely flowers in addition to its multi-colored foliage.
