Isatis tinctoria

This plant has an ancient history – it’s the plant the early Britons used to color their skin blue before going into battle. It’s a back of the sunny border plant and a well-grown specimen is quite spectacular. Clouds of yellow flowers for about two weeks. Very seed aggressive.
